Instructors
training school prepares attendees to administer certifications.
Upon completion of the ITS course, attendees shall become
official Certified Performance Specialist Instructors (CPS*I™)
and will be added to the certification instructors database.
Instructors receive competitive compensation for teaching CPS™
courses, a stipend for meals, travel, and housing during a
certification course, and a more in-depth training and evaluation of
presenter skills, public speaking, and knowledge of the CPS™ curriculum.
Official CPS™ instructors may host their own certifications with a
senior instructor present, and receive a per diem compensation for
every registration. ITS schools are 19 hours of classroom and presentation time spread over 2.5 days.

Requirements
- Must be a Certified Performance Specialist™
- Attend an official ITS school by registering through this site.
- Attend all school courses.
- Must have at least one year of related experience developing exercise programs.
- Must be a designated training officer for your department.
- Must
submit a full resume with all related experience and other trainings
you have participated in, along with three references and two letters
of recommendation.
- Submit a 1 page paper describing how this may benefit you as an instructor.
- Plan and administer presentations related to the CPS™ credential to fellow attendees.
Recommended But Not Required
- Maintenance of another fitness certification by other recognizable organizations such as the NSCA, NATA, ACSM, NASM, or ACE.
- A degree in exercise science or related discipline.
- Experience in public speaking, with powerpoint, or in conducting trainings.
