The
Level 2 certification picks up where the level 1 certification
concludes, and explores in depth the areas of exercise science and
training for specific job groups such as fire and rescue, law
enforcement, EMS, military, federal law enforcement, navy, and more.
The goal of each 2.5 day school is to progress from an overall
training knowledge to a detailed specialty for an area you work.
Each school covers more advanced training concepts, identifies
the specific energy systems and biomechanics necessary for successful
physical preparation, and provides methods to develop proficiency in
these areas. Level 2 attendees are required to attend a 2.5 day
certification process with 18 hours total of classroom and hands-on
training coursework.
Requirements
- Be a Certified Performance Specialist™.
- Attend all sessions at the school.
- Have a least two years of accumulated related experience on-the-job and/or developing exercise programs.
- Choose a job specialty. We recommend first-time Level 2 students choose a job group they are most familiar with.
- Provide a resume including relevant job experience, assignments, and trainings you have either participated in or conducted. Please include 3 references.
- Provide a 1-page training philosophy (minimum of 750 words) related to the job group you have chosen to attend.
- Pass a comprehensive 100 question, written exam at the end of the course.
- Develop a plan within a small group of fellow classmates and present it to the review committee on-site on how you would approach the assigned scenario.
